Fave Five Friday #5

Holy moly, that's a love of fs & 5s!

Hey there pretty people & happy Friiiiday!!

This week was pretty well uneventful for me. I'm completely okay with this! I had the house to myself from Sunday until Thursday & I soaked it up. Walked around in minimal clothing & watched whatever I wanted on the tv that resides in the living room. (I rarely get say of what is playing.)

I could probably come up with 5 okay things that happened or, let's be real here, list the hurricanes courtesy of Mardi Gras as all 5 (8). But instead of rummaging around my head for 5 super awesome (read: mundane) things that happened this week I'm going to share with you, lovely readers, my top 5 favorite songs in all of everdom.

numero uno. (I have a point here)
Beer in Mexico - Kenny Chesney

Beer In Mexico by Kenny Chesney on Grooveshark

I cannot tell you a precise reason why this is my number 1 favorite song of all time. It just is. It has been for years. When it comes on I literally drop everything to belt it out at the top of my lungs & dance around like a crazy person no matter where I may be or what I may be doing. This is serious, ask anyone who has ever met me IRL.

Which road I travel is still a mystery to me.

I was once in Mexico & found a boy who shared the same love for this song. We sang it a cappella for the bartender who got a pretty good kick out of us, I'm sure. He & I are still friends to this day, 5 years later. (the boy, not the bartender)

Sweet & Low - Augustana

Sweet and Low (acoustic version) by Augustana on Grooveshark

The acoustic version. Always the acoustic version. It makes me semi-weepy every time I listen but it is just so darn good!

No one's giving up quite yet, we've got too much to lose. AH love it.

#3
Forever Young - Bob Dylan

Forever Young (Continued) by Bob Dylan on Grooveshark

The fast version. Yes, this was on set by my love of Parenthood. But I LOVE this song. I want it to be played as the first song that everyone dances to at my currently nonexistent wedding to my nonexistent man. (to be fair, let's hope he exists somewhere. I just haven't met him yet.)

#4
She's Taken - Drew Baldridge

I absolutely love this song. I first heard him play it a year or so ago, I think. Talk about SWOON. And wanna know the best part? I know him. He's from my area. I went to see him play on my birthday & unfortunately he had already played this song before we all got there but we talked during the break and he said he might try to fit it in again. He did. YES!

The perfect picture of perfectly different.

Seriously y'all, check Drew out on iTunes. He's gonna be huge.

Country Girl (Shake it for me) - Luke Bryan

Country Girl (Shake It For Me) by Luke Bryan on Grooveshark

Because who the hell wouldn't wanna shake it for Luke Bryan?! Not that I woundn't drop everything to sing & dance to any of these songs but this one is one I will get up on a table for. And you best believe that I have. This song has the power to bring me out of the worst mood.

Apparently I have no top 5 songs that are sung by a female. Oh well.

But there ya have it! These are the 5 songs I would drop everything for to listen to when they come on. Give them a listen, you won't regret it. Maybe we have a top 5 in common? Maybe one of these will reach your top 5!

What are your favorite songs?

Have a happy weekend! Not that you can particularly #backthatazzup to any of these but they all make me happy & you can get a little freak-nasty to Luke so we're still gonna link up with Miss Yoga Pants.

Linking up with: Lauren, Whitney, & April (and the other 5 on friday girlies.)
